What is the dark night of the senses if not detachment from the senses and living on faith alone. Can we do this? Is it possible to not rely on imagery, sacramentals, Saints, images and so on to bring us into the feeling that God loves me? Did Mary have such objects, I am thinking not. Mary had faith! Let us ask Mary for her solid faith to rely on God at all times for all things without grasping at the world for help.
